Bing Crosby Show – January 24, 1951

This was Jimmy’s second appearance on Bing’s new Chesterfield Show for CBS Radio. Bing’s musical guest for the evening was Toni Arden.

Stewart signed contracts for each individual show he did with Bing. Here are the three pages of the contract for this show. You can see for yourself just how involved the contracts were.

Because of the popularity of Crosby’s show, it didn’t require much advertising, so the newspaper clippings were short. Here are two examples for this program; the fist is from the Berkeley Daily Gazette, Berkeley, CA, and the second from the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, Brooklyn, NY.

The “Jimmy Stewart Spot” was approximately ten minutes in length and mainly concerned the fact that Jimmy and Gloria were expecting twins. As usual, Jimmy was hoping that Bing could give him some advice. We’ve included pages from the script so that you can follow along as you listen.
