Leo Is on the Air – Born to Dance

This special MGM program was listed in Jimmy Stewart on the Air, but some extras, including the audio, are presented here for the first time.

The 15-minute show was meant to help promote the film by showcasing five of the Cole Porter songs which were included in the movie.

The copy of the show in our collection is not the original MGM disc, but rather a copy made by some unknown person at a later date.

The songs heard on the program are:

Frances Langford – I’ve Got You Under My Skin
Eleanor Powell – Easy to Love
Virginia Bruce & Raymond Walburn – Love Me, Love My Pekinese
Jimmy Stewart & Buddy Ebsen – Rollin’ Home
Frances Langford & Cast – Swingin’ the Jinx Away

An uncredited Marjorie Lane actually sang Miss Powell’s songs in the film.

The music on all songs was provided by the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Orchestra, directed by Alfred Newman.
